Delightful Discoveries - Hunter Gatherer 08.10.10

Since I spent a good part of the evening yesterday gathering some wonderful hunter green items to share with you in this post today, I realized that I was really a hunter gatherer, and the title of this post was born! I also gathered a little bit of information about this shade of green - for instance, did you know:

• Hunter green has been an accepted color in the English language since 1892.
• It's the official color of the New York Jets football team.
• It's one of the two official colors of both Ohio University and the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
• It was the color most commonly worn by hunters until the 20th century, when olive drab took over as the preferred favorite.
• In Europe, McDonald's Franchise are dropping the red background in their logo and replacing it with hunter green in an effort to show their environmental awareness.
• Bella Swan, a character in the twilight saga, wore a hunter green jacket in New Moon.
