twilight may well be the young adult's phenomenon of the decade. I'm sure most of us have seen the cover art for at least one of the books and a trailer or two for one of the movies. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this saga by author Stephenie Meyer, the storyline revolves around the relationship between the young vampire, Edward Cullen, and his human love, Bella [Swan] Cullen, as he protects her against all manner of otherworldly creatures until she finally joins his world as a vampiress. Filled with innocence, romance, lust, and the allure of danger, twilight has become a huge success - reaching across many industries and inspiring artisans like Sykin (pronounced see-kin) of Sykin's One Stop Twilight Shop on Etsy to develop beautiful creations with an otherworldly theme.
One of the first (in fact THE first according to the shop announcement) Etsy shops to feature twilight themed items, Sykin's shop has a lovely assortment of jewelry, accessories, and art cards inspired by this amazing journey through the world of the undead. My personal favorite is this Twilight inspired Vampire Skull Cell Charm or Zipper Pull with it's shimmery red crystal heart and intriguing skull charm. (I have a feeling my step-daughter will go crazy if she sees this post since she lives and breathes twilight!)
I loved the inspiration behind this twilight inspired topaz bracelet. It features eight golden topaz drops representing each of the eight members of the Cullen family - Alice, Jasper, Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, Emmett, Edward and Bella (who all happen to have eerie and hypnotic topaz eyes!).
Inspired by the final book in the series, Breaking Dawn, this note card features Sykin's hand drawn interpretation of the book's cover. The interior of the card is blank, making it perfect for any occasion or sentiment you can think of!
I hope you'll take the opportunity to stop by Sykin's twilight shop to view the rest of her twilight themed goodies, and also to visit her new shop - Sykin's NW wonders - where she showcases some of her other jewelry designs as well as her wonderful photography of the Pacific Northwest. There you'll find her unique perspective on the world, like this print titled "Falling Off The Edge Of The World" and a growing collection of fresh and new jewelry designs!
