Color Wheel of Fortune 07.28.10

I learned a bit about aqua today... like the word aqua is latin for water (actually, I knew that already) ; in color therapy, aqua is used to soothe the soul in times of chaos; and that the color aqua is a shade of cyan blue that has just the slightest undertones of green. Aquamarine, on the other hand is a shade of cyan that is actually more toward the green side with just the slightest undertones of blue. Today's featured color is somewhere right in the middle, at least in my humble opinion! I also learned that I'm really lousy at whittling your submissions down to just three - so I'm going to feature four items again today because I just couldn't make up my mind. I think you'll approve though - because they all contain some splendid examples of aqua!

With football season just a few weeks away, a lot of women will be trying to figure out how to keep from becoming football widows (or baseball widows while the boys of summer are going through their playoffs). Sometimes all it takes is a little distraction... and this romantic and sexy Vintage Aqua Chiffon Peignoir Set from HepCatClothes might be just the ticket to distracting your favorite armchair quarterback.

There's nothing like a stunning yet simple necklace to draw his attention to your oh-so-kissable neck, and I think this enchanting lampwork glass bead necklace titled "Bubbles" and created by Vicki at GlassRiverJewelry is the perfect attention getter. Delightful blue green glass beads drizzled with fine silver provide an elegant, yet subtle touch of color - just the right kind of "flirtatious" for any woman!

It's always nice to set the mood with some candlelight... and of course it's safer and cleaner to use a candle holder for your favorite scented candle. This Stained glass Tree of Life candleholder is available from sueryansglass and features a bewitching copper wire tree set against lovely aqua colored glass.

The rest I'll leave to your imagination... but before you drift away on those cotton candy clouds, let these ethereal Cotton Candy Petals (an original fine art print) from Zuppaartista begin your reverie in a soft sultry style. The dreamy colors in this piece of photography are simply amazing!

Tomorrow, I'll be deviating from my color themes for the first time and featuring items that have something to do with rain - in honor of Rain Day, a local celebration in Waynesburg, PA! So show me your umbrellas and rain boots, your rainy day artwork and your rain inspired goodies. I figure that if we aren't getting our usual monsoon rains here in the Phoenix area this year, I'll live a bit vicariously through all your wonderful rain themed items, and maybe, just maybe someone will do a rain dance here and we'll actually be able to enjoy a rainy day or two! Send me your links by clicking here . Then be sure to check back to see what my final selections were!

I'll be back in a bit with a feature of my BESTeam teammate Cadley, from cadiwompus, so be sure to come back and check out her feature!
