On Behalf Of...

With so much negativity existing in society today - and angst between the generations, I'm feeling quite blessed to share today's BESTeam feature with you. This feature was technically due last evening, but I was afraid it would get lost over the long night, and I felt this was a feature that deserved a rightful place in the sun! So while this might be a "late" post, I hope everyone will understand why!

OnBehalfOf is a newer member of the BEST, and while the selection in this shop is still somewhat small, the message the items send and the hope and help that derive themselves from shopowner and artist Kate's efforts are enormous. It is sometimes easy to attribute a sense of worry about where our world will be if left in the hands of our youth... if they were all youth like this young honors college student, I think we'd not only be less concerned about the future, we'd be inspired to work alongside them to make it an amazing world.

While it's Kate's vision to raise some money to contribute to projects and programs that work to alleviate real issues - not only in third world countries, but in our own back yard, she is also working to spread awareness of how much even a little help can make such a huge difference in the life of human being who is oppressed or without access to the things we so easily take for granted... be it clean water, three meals a day, or simply the freedom to say "no" and not be beaten or abused because of it.

I rarely ask favors of my readers, but today I'm asking that each person who reads this post passes it on to all of their own readers, Facebook fans, twitter followers, and everyone else you can think of to help Kate's voice and cause be heard. I, for one, am inspired by her work and her spirit... as she succinctly says it, "I'm a small girl, but I am pretty determined that not everything about me will be small."

Kate has already traveled to many places, viewing the plights of people first hand, and the wisdom, heart, and experience of this young woman show in the choices of resource and aid programs she works with:
