Fabulous Friday Feature - Simply Heavenly!

In an effort to keep my readers from getting too bored with the "same old, same old" - during the month of October I'll be doing some in-depth features of a variety of shops from the handmade community to give you a chance to learn not only only about the wonderful products that these shop owners and artisans offer, but to get to know the people behind the storefront as well. Today is the first of these features, and I'm pleased to have the opportunity to allow you to learn more about AngelScents and Jan, the creative spirit behind the wonderful bath and body products you'll find there!

There are a few things about AngelScents that appeal to me. The first is the variety of products. Whether you're looking for bars of soap, fancy guest soaps, whipped body butter, bath salts, lotions, body mist, or any other of a number of skin care and cleansing products, you will find it at AngelScents ! Jan is also happy to create any of her items in an unscented version or with your choice of over a hundred different scents.

The second thing I like about her shop is that you can buy things in a variety of sizes as well as beautiful gift basket collections. (Pictured here is her 7 piece gift basket in Almond Biscotti) Items like her bath bombs, bath melts, or her 2 oz themed soap bars would be perfect as shower or wedding favors, or that secret Santa gift, and definitely for stocking stuffers! And who wouldn't appreciate a wonderful basket of bath and body products as a birthday, housewarming, or any other special occasion gift?

Jan says of her soapmaking, "I've been taught to use only the finest ingredients and the best scents around. I keep everything as natural and organic as I can. I wouldn't sell anything if it wasn't tested first and if it wasn't the best!"

I asked Jan to answer a few "interview" questions for me, so that you and I can both get to know her better. Here they are, along with her responses!

Karen: What would you consider the one thing that makes your soaps and body care items stand out in the crowd?
Jan: I always try to make everything as natural as possible and not use anything harsh. I also don't use anything with the word TOXIC on it!!! That's one of the reasons I don't use SLS or any of those items to make more bubbles. If I see the word caution on it then I would rather not use it.

K: When you're not being artistically creative, what do you like to do to pass the time?
J: I love to crochet for my other shop that I have and I love to read. No matter where I go, I always have a book with me.

K: You're stranded on a desert island and you've been praying that you had one item to make life bearable. All of a sudden a crate washes up on shore. What's in it?
J: Yarn! lot of yarn!!! Also, my supplies to make soap!

K: What's your own personal favorite out of all the products you sell at AngelScents?
J: I love my dry skin healer. It works so great and its all natural. I couldn't get through a winter without it for dry skin. That and I love my whipped body butter.

K: In addition to your bath and body shop, you also have have a shop that offers beautiful wreaths and lovely crocheted items (Rhody). Tell us a little bit about your inspiration for your second shop which is in a completely different area of creativity.
J:I've always loved to crochet and I love to make wreaths. I love roses so every time I see them this past summer I would think up another wreath to make with roses on it. Plus when I see all the different colors of flowers. I love different colors together to make colorful wreaths.

K:Share one thing about yourself that almost nobody knows. (well, until now!)
J: Ok now everyone will know lol. I'm afraid of the dark!

In addition to AngelScents , Jan spends time enjoying sharing her handmade life on Twitter and on her blog, as well as creating items for her other shop:
