Timeless Talent from Sofia - A BESTeam Feature

Not everyone realizes that Etsy is a worldwide marketplace... and some of the most talented and creative Etsians make their homes in cities and towns across the globe. I'm honored today to feature one of these wonderful artisans and a fellow BESTeam member, Nevita - who has not one, but two wonderful shops on Etsy - nevita, and photosprint. A relatively new mom of a beautiful baby daughter, Nevita lives in the eastern European city of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this country, it lies just to the north of Greece and Turkey near the Mediterranean and Black Seas.

European handcrafts have a rich history of being some of the most beautiful pieces of craftsmanship in the world, and like many others, Nevita hopes to express her love of life and beauty, as well as share the talents handed down to her from her grandmother, in the offerings in her shops.

It's often hard enough to pick a few favorites from just one Etsy shop, but choosing from two was even more so. Nevita is filled with a wide selection of trendy accessories, clothing, fiber jewelry, and timeless gobelin tapestries. These tapestries won my heart - especially since I'm all too aware of how much work can go into them - but the time and effort is well worth the result, as you can see in this new favorite of mine... the White Tiger (and only 42,436 stitches!!!) Isn't the detail simply gorgeous?!?


You can also find some "Sex in the City" chic tunic tops at nevita - and I love Nevita's suggestion of wearing them as a lightweight maternity coverup too. Maybe I'm just more sensitive to them lately since my daughter has one, but I've been seeing a lot of "baby bumps" out there lately! What a great way to feel glamorous when you're not necessarily feeling very glamorous! I love the blues and greens in this fabric, and with a matching headband and belt, this three piece set is a wonderful complete look.

Can't forget about photosprint, Nevita's custom graphics and photo prints shop! While there are many lovely photos of nature and landscapes in addition to business graphics services available here, I have a soft spot for architectural photography - especially when it's taken from the point of view that this Photo Print Church of St John Aliturgetos provides! Gives you a sense of the majesty of some of this old world architecture. Gorgeous!
