A Couple of Lions and a June Bug - BESTeam feature 05.04.10

My BESTeam feature this week is on a wonderful little jewelry and accessory shop called LeoAndJunie. I was curious as to how Christine, the shop owner, came up with her shop name until I ran across some information on her facebook fan page about it. Her husband and son both have birthdays in August, making their astrological sun sign the sign of the Lion, Leo. Her daughter on the other hand, has a birthday in June and Christine calls her daughter her junebug baby - so now we know where LeoAndJunie originated! What a great way to honor the loves of her life :)

Christine's inspiration for her lovely jewelry is connected to her love of flower gardens and things of the past. She really enjoys finding "uncirculated" vintage beads and using new materials to bring them to life. She also has fun taking apart old pieces of jewelry and making something new from it. The creative result is amazing - items with a slightly neo-victorian feel, full of color and inspired by nature's gifts like flowers and birds and leaves and oh so many other beautiful themes!

I asked Christine to share something about her that most people probably wouldn't know and she came back with this response : One thing people might not know about me is my love for animals. I have always had dogs/cats, hamsters, fish, etc growing up. I currently have three furry babies: a 4 year old rescued puggle, a 2 year old chihuahua, and a 1 year old boxer. My chihuahua, Kai, is my little sidekick. He follows his Mama everywhere!

As a member of the BESTeam, Christine uses her blog not only to promote her own shop and keep her readers up to date on her hobbies and passions and life in general, but she does some fantastic features of teammates too! She is also a fellow member of WWES (WorldWide Etsy Sellers) so you will find her busily tweeting away on twitter too!

I hope you'll take a moment to visit LeoAndJunie and also to say Hi to Christine on twitter or FB and learn more about her on her blog! She's a sweetheart and I'm so glad she's my teammate!
