6 on Saturday

I'm trying out a new feature for my Saturday posts - 6 on Saturday.  I'll be introducing 6 unnoticed or undernoticed (under 10 sales) shops from the pages of Etsy.  Starting a new venture on any venue can be tough, and as many of you in the same position can attest to, being found on the search engines can be next to impossible without some Search Engine Optimization (SEO) help.  On Etsy, it's the promise of syndication, but to reach their golden equation of qualifying events still involves finding a way to be seen without being on Google Shopping. From there it's about making a few sales and getting some positive feedback going.

So, in the spirit of the handmade community, I'm giving these shops a little leg up by giving them a little air time here.  If you are new to Etsy, or have a new website that you would like me to showcase here, don't be shy.  Drop me a note, contact me, leave a post with a link to your shop, whatever you'd like to do, and let me know and I'll be happy to help you out!  (Sorry, no businesses that relate to adult themed goods, drugs, social, religious, or sexual bias, or other equally uncomfortable-for-most-people shops will be considered.)

Now, let's get this party started!  Here are my 6 for Saturday, October 8th, 2011!

LetaMarieDesign opened shop on Etsy on October 6th.  Leta Marie Designs To Live In and Love specializes in quality handmade artisan jewelry.  Since she hasn't made any sales or received any feedback yet, spread the word and let's get her to the syndication goal of 6 sales and some positive feedback!

Elizabeth is AYoungRetiree - translated, a Navy wife who has chosen to come out of her post-nuptial retirement to engage in her Etsy-preneurial dream of selling awesome handstamped notecards, tags, and a variety of other fun paper goods!  AYoungRetiree opened shop on September 15th and has a start with 4 sales.  Maybe she'll hit the magic number before the weekend is out!  Here's a few goodies to pique your interest!

Mary187, otherwise known as Marina's Passion for Dolls is amazingly undiscovered.  Specializing in amazing art dolls, this shop has been open since Sep 20, 2009 with nary a sale.  Maybe her fanciful witches will spark some sales this Halloween season!

Charlene, from 3CelestialMaidens, features screenprinted tees adorned with her own artwork, reflecting her Cambodian heritage, in her shop. She is hoping to begin listing prints of some of her other artwork shortly, as well as offering custom charcoal portraits. Quite the artist, and a love lady to get to know. Her shop has been around since August 8th, and is yet to be discovered. If you appreciate the beautiful brand of art that Charlene offers, or know someone who would, now's the perfect time to buy!

Corona, CA is home to birdfeedersplus - an excellent shop for all of you birdwatchers out there. (You know who you are!) Seriously, these are for the birds! There are bird feeders in a variety of themes from boats to barns, golf courses to casinos... and lots of other handcrafted woodworked goodies like business card holders and dog leash holders. Opened on Jan 10th, this shop is holding at 3 sales right now and hoping to get syndicated soon. Your feathered friends deserve a nice new home for the winter, so stop on by and check it out!

For beautiful expressions of art in a variety of media, head on over to Katesmuse. Delightful pieces of art for your home or office are waiting patiently for you there. Open since Nov 10th, this shop is still anticipating its first customer. Why not let it be you?

Best of Luck to all of these un- and underdiscovered shops!

WOW!
Lots of cool shops here!
I am going to have to check them all out :)
I think the birdhouse feeder is very cool, nice design too. The birds here, or anywhere would like the big open space.
My son made a bird house for me, but today I saw 2 huge wasps flying in it. I don't think I will be having that up much longer, like till tomorrow!

Thanks for sharing,
Cathy
