Meet Me at the Intersection of SciFi and Romance - A BESTeam Feature

It's my pleasure today to introduce you to a wonderful shop called Inkstrand, where you'll find a collection of darling jewelry and accesssories "inspired by Victorian aesthetics, science fiction and a bit of fantasy"! Jamila, the artistic force behind the creations, describes herself as "one crafty lady" who wanted an outlet for her love of crafting, her fondness of history, scifi, and steampunk, and her desire to put her thoughts and ideas into something tangible... and Inkstrand was born.

Her offerings are definitely infused with steampunk themes, beautifully uniting the futuristic feel of scifi with Victoriana romance in a way that's easy on the eye and the budget! Browsing through her shop left me with a sense of Dr Who meets Queen Victoria or perhaps a vague reminiscence of H.G. Wells The Time Machine - a decidedly steampunkish scifi story that is set at the turn of the 20th century (although Rod Taylor's travels through time take him nearly 800,000 years into the future)! As a side note, Jamila also enjoys another outlet for her creativity - authoring her own steampunk themed stories! This is definitely a young woman who has learned how to do an awesome job of combining her creatitivity with her self-proclaimed nerdiness!

This Custom Antique Inspired Silhouette Portrait Pendant in a brass finish is a wonderful idea for a personalized pendant. Jamila will create a silhouette from a picture you provide and transfer it to parchment and create a pendant for you based on that likeness. What a sweet idea!


Perhaps you'd like something a little more true to the steampunk style? How about this wonderful Steampunk pendant necklace featuring brass gears and a unique resin cabochon encasing a collection of watch gears and parts... what a classic piece!


And of course, if scifi is more your passion, Inkstrand has something for you too! This great little Sci-fi Steampunk Ray-gun Adjustable Brass Ring features a distressed illustration of a ray-gun encased in resin. How fun is that?!?
