Color Wheel of Fortune 07.13.10

Ok, I'm begging forgiveness for the mess I made of things yesterday! You may have noticed that a few things have been moved around here. Of course, it took much longer than I thought it would to get things the way I wanted them, so by the time I had gotten things in order, I realized that it was too late to post my Monday color feature. Sooooo... I've backed everything up a day and the items I was going to feature yesterday will be featured today, and if you click on the "Be Featured" link in the right sidebar, you'll see a rolling 7 day schedule of the colors I'll be featuring. I've also decided that I'm going to throw in a few themes to go along with my "Today is" celebrations, so you'll see those posted there as I decide on them. Should help keep things interesting, don't you think?

In addition to your comments on the featured items, I'd love to hear your opinion of my new layout. I still have some tweaking to do here and there, but I wanted to de-clutter my homepage and make it easier for you to find the posts that you're most likely to want to find! I'm open to any and all suggestions!

Now, on with the show! The color I'm featuring today is Indian Red - and I think what I was intrigued by was how many people knew what Indian Red was! You guys are good!!!

The first item I chose to feature is this listing for these adorable Terracotta Butterfly tags from JessMadeThis. What a delightful way to brighten up a package! I especially like the way the hearts trail up the lower wings of these whimsical little flutter-bys... reminds me a bit of some of the folksy art that was popular back in the 60's, but with a fresh new flair that's perfect for today's themes. These sell as a set of six.

KnitsByNat offers this gorgeous Indian Red Lace Rib Scarf crafted from 100% cotton yarn in a wonderful open weave, so it's breathable and breathtaking all at once. I think this would look amazing as a touch of color for all of those cool weather neutrals!

My last selection was a bit hard...I had it narrowed down to two listings, and both were bags, but I thought that this Country Toile Reusable Shopping Bag was just a slightly better match on the color (I think the redwood backdrop may have been the deciding factor!). This great tote is available at PrairieWindDesigns and in keeping with the shopowner Misti's eco-friendly designs, it's fashioned from upholostery fabric remnants. Yay for upcycling, repurposing, and eco-friendly!

Tomorrow's color is a fun and bold red-violet... and you can see it by simply clicking on the "Be Featured" link in the right sidebar! If you have any items that you'd like to nominate for any of the upcoming features, just click on the "Contact Me" tab in the menu of this page, and send me the link! If you would note the date of the feature you'd like to be considered for as well, that would be very helpful!

Thank you for your patience while I sorted through the changes yesterday - I hope you like them! Have a great day!
